Middlesbrough Council spends approximately £118 million a year procuring goods, services and works. The Council procures from large and small organisations covering both the private and voluntary sectors.

The Council procures through competitive tendering or via existing contracts and framework agreements tendered by public sector consortia such as the North East Purchasing Organisation (NEPO) or OGC (Office of Government Commerce) Buying Solutions. The Council's Corporate Procurement Team provide procurement support to each of our service areas responsible for promoting and coordinating procurement best practice across the authority.
