North Tyneside Council is taking a proactive approach to ensure that potential suppliers are able to bid for available contracts.
The council is a member of the North East Purchasing Organisation (NEPO) – a partnership between local authorities in the region – and uses its electronic portal for advertising contract opportunities.
Potential suppliers can register on the NEPO site and will then receive an email if contract opportunities arise.
The council's website also has a section on procurement, providing useful information and details of forthcoming contract opportunities.
A ‘How to do Business with North Tyneside Council' guide is available on the council's website, which explains public sector procurement processes. In addition, the procurement team are always willing to deal with any queries.
