Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council (SMBC) procures an extensive range of goods, services, works and capital projects to enable the efficient and cost-effective delivery of services and facilities to meet our customers needs. This undertaking necessitates external annual expenditure of typically £2 million.

To manage this responsibility it is essential that we, in compliance with all public procurement legislation and obligations, identify best value solutions through working with suppliers and partners to offer the best services we can.

Our Corporate Procurement organisation provides support to each of our service areas and is responsible for promoting and coordinating procurement best practice across the authority.
